As a creative multi-preneur I wear several hats to help people like you transform your dream into reality.
The kinds of businesses I have run with passion or helped others start since the mid 90’s, and run successfully are:
- Importing: I started importing European furniture and antiques from England. Dealing with and selling to dealers and large antique stores here in Ontario.
- Art School / Art Programs: A few years later wanting to travel less and spend more time with my then young daughter, I started an art school to teach art to children and those with special needs (including autism). The Jolly Good Art School was extremely popular with after-school programs and spring, winter and summer break camps that were always fully booked.
- Author / Book Publishing: After I stopped that business to recuperate from breast cancer (twice), I put my mind into learning all there was to get a book published via traditional means. A large business book publishing company (Self-Counsel Press) accepted my book proposal and in 2007 my book “Start & Run An Art Teaching Business” became a national bestseller.
After becoming a certified Interior Designer (Hummingbird Interior Designs.com) and offering my staging and renovating consultation services, I have successfully helped sell properties for over their asking price. I have enjoyed the process of organizing renovations in our own homes, too.
I have also helped people start their own art schools, editing businesses, and my ‘book proposal coaching’ and full book services have helped others make their publishing dreams a reality.
Fiction Writing as Gloria Silk
I started writing fiction as Gloria Silk, and in 2014 I got my first book published, “First and Only Destiny”. In 2017 I became a USA Today Bestselling Author. You can check out the story of how “From Geek to Greek Billionaire” helped raise over US$10,000 for Breast Cancer Research.
Now most of my time is spent on helping others achieve their goals, and creating more of my own art.
